Christmas Project 2020

After the beautiful experience of last year and having received several requests to carry out a project in winter, from the Taragalt Association for Development and Volunteering and Cultural Exchange we decided to start a volunteer project during the Christmas season.

​

There are different objectives to carry out in the city of Ouarzazate. Due to coinciding dates with possible holidays in Spain, we have decided that the project will last approximately one week, so that it is viable for all. One of the priorities of the project will be, on the one hand, clothes, shoes, school supplies, toys, of various collections carried out by the association.

​

On the other hand, we would also like to focus on intercultural exchange, with the realization of intercultural workshops with children and adults.

​

The project that will be carried out in Christmas Project is:

​

Activities with children
Painting of schools (subject to the needs of the people)
And then we inform you about some of the new activities that we will carry out:

Intercultural women's meeting
Football or ping pong tournament with children

​

The volunteers will live in a house together with the coordinators of the association, where they will sleep, eat and prepare the activities in the meetings planned with the coordinators of each project.

The field work will be carried out in the schools near the house.

There will be several groups of volunteers (depending on the number of participants) and work around 5 hours a day (2 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon).

A space of free time and another one of cultural activities are planned to be carried out jointly in the group of volunteers and coordinators. The activities are the following:

​

*Game discovery of the city Ouarzazate.

*Visit the city Ouarzazate.The most famous tourist monument of the city of Ouarzazate (former residence of Pasha El Glaoui, The famous film studios of many internationally renowned films Gladiator, Prince of Persia, Laurence of Arabia, ... where there are always the scenery that served for these shootings and the film museum)

*Cultural workshop: Moroccan wedding (with hammam, henna and traditional dresses)

 

*Dinner with a Moroccan family

*Classes of Moroccan Arabic (Dariya)

*At the end of the project there will be a party in the schools with gifts for the children and delivery of certificates of participation for the volunteers.

*Finally, an excursion (optional) to the Zagora desert is offered, with a camel ride and night in the desert huts. On the way back we can enjoy the Gnawa music .

Participation fee

The participation fee for the Easter project is 150 euros.

This fee includes accommodation, food (4 meals a day except mineral water or other beverages), material to carry out the different projects, cultural activities and workshops for volunteers, gifts for children and material for the final party.

​

The flight ticket, the medical insurance (which the volunteers will have to buy together with the flight, since it includes the medical coverage during their stay)
